Compared to her previous book, this one is a different story altogether.
The author has expressed each emotion beautifully. They kept me on the hook, and I was hanging on their every word, craving for more. The interaction between the brothers were my personal favorites. It lays in the borderline between melodrama and useless conflict. You will see yourself in atleast one of the characters. The realistic approach of the book is the highlight of the book. The plots takes its own sweet time to develop, but the voice and tone of the book holds you. The author never leaves a stone unturned to convince the readers that arihant is a writer. The first part, told from arihant's perspective has a gripping narration. While faced with a choice to choose between family and passion, what they will choose, is the major plot of the book. Arihant, working in a weekly, stays away from home so that he can concentrate on his book but unable to say the truth the his family, lies on the context that he is working in an IT company. Ishaan, stuck between his passion for cooking and responsibility of the family on his shoulders, feels like an outcast in his own family. Ishaan and arihant, the brothers, are as different as chalk and cheese. Penned by Mitali Meelan, a long way home is the story of the Adhikari brothers.
